Office Communicator 2007 R2 is tightly integrated into Outlook 2010 to make instant messaging and all related functions of your Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 R2 applications a breeze. By using Office Communicator 2007 R2, you can simultaneously experience multiple modes of communication, including instant messaging, video conferencing, telephony, application sharing, and file transfer.
With Office Communicator 2007 R2's integration with Outlook 2010 you can see the Communicator Contact list in Outlook. Schedule meetings and reply to email or initiate an IM conversation if a person is available.
Information about a contact's availability appears throughout the 2010 Microsoft Office system, via icons similar to those in the Office Communicator client. Whenever these icons appear, users view a contact card that provides several communication options, including being able to start an IM conversation.
During a conversation, users can start OneNote with a single click. The OneNote page automatically opens with the names of the contacts in the call; if a user stores the conversation history in Outlook 2010, a link to the OneNote page is also stored there.
